Ivy-Lee: If I Fall

Ivy-Lee: If I Fall

Hitting the Adelaide scene with a fresh approach is Ivy-Lee, an Electronic Pop Singer and Songwriter. Ivy-Lee was born into a multicultural family which supported her interest to explore and be open-minded. Her knack for music really started when she was just a little girl jamming and dancing to Atomic Kitten and Hillary Duff. From that time a star was born, at just 8 years old Ivy-Lee wrote her first song.

High school can be tricky to navigate through, Ivy-Lee put up her shield and pulled it right down post high school. Ivy-Lee then moved to Sydney and got involved with a Pop Punk band that covered the likes of Paramore and Tonight Alive. After seeing a Vera Blue gig at the Metro - Ivy-Lee was inspired to write again.

Ivy-Lee moved back to Adelaide and currently works as a graphic designer, photographer and wedding singer while working on her solo music.

Ivy-Lee explained “If I Fall” was founded during a time when I was living in Sydney, I had moved there knowing no one (for a job) and I was learning that the dynamic of this city was quite different to my hometown of Adelaide. I remember trying my best to get out there, mix in with the music and arts scene, mingle with people from my work, and whilst I made some really solid friendships that I’ll keep for a lifetime - I just struggled with knowing who had good/genuine intentions I wound up in a few sticky situations where I was taken advantage of (in a business context) and I started having panic attacks at work and my mum was the only person who could pull me out of them (over the phone) In short If I Fall is a song about navigating life away from home during a time where I couldn't find a balance between being influenced by superficiality, seeking a sense of identity in another city, and feeling like I was unable to maintain any control and feel grounded”
