Having a distinct sound with her chocolaty voice and smooth runs reminiscent of 90’s R&B, Q. Kiara sets herself apart with her expressive and lyrical songwriting style, voicing an array of emotions infused into her catchy songs and rap verses. Q. has spent years in the industry as a singer/songwriter cultivating her skills and repertoire. She loves being creative in all ways. She does life her way, does Fashion her way, and is uniquely and eclectically, her. Her inspirations include Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Queen, and Beyonce.

Quanisha Kiara Wathington was born in Perth Amboy, NJ. She’s from a musical family where her Grandfather and his brothers had a Duwoop group, and her Grandmother sang background for Bon Jovi. Her parents later moved to East Hartford, CT and Clarksburg, MD where Q. excelled in school talent shows, musical theater, and the most coveted choir group in her high school, the Chamber Choir. Her achievements also include playing at various Annual NAACP Conventions in front of the likes of Al Sharpton and many other NAACP elite members. She was also a Radio Disney Tune Troop and got to perform as the opening act for Britney Spears and many more. She later performed at various events and festivals and opened for other R&B artists such as Eric Roberson.

Q. released her self-titled debut album in 2008 at age 18. In the process she learned many skills from how to write and record a song, to performing and much more. Q. later went to college in Florida and achieved her Bachelor’s of Science in Entertainment Business. She then moved to Los Angeles to continue to chase her dreams. Q. juggled many jobs trying to make ends meet and eventually got into modeling for cosmetic companies such as Anastasia Beverley Hills. From there, she got into acting for commercials, tv shows, and movies. Currently Q. is hard at work on finishing her latest project titled “732” , an homage to her hometown. She recently worked on several songs with an industry legend, 88 Keys, who is well known for producing for Kanye West, Q Tip, Common, and many more. “732” will reveal a more mature side, vulnerability, fierceness, and plenty of lyrical savvy, all written by Q., pertaining to her personal and past experiences. It includes a variety of music for everyone, radio hits, club hits, and songs you can deeply relate to.
