RYAL: "Awake Monroe"

RYAL: "Awake Monroe"

Remember A-Side / B-Side cassettes and 7” vinyl singles? Synth, electronic duo RYAL (Jacque Ryal and Aaron Nevezie) released two new tracks entitled, "Awake Monroe" and "Watcher" as a dual single leading up to a handful of releases coming out this winter.

These two tracks take a different turn musically, moving away from the duo's usual synth-electro pop soundscapes we know. The songs take a deeper dive into intricate rhythm patterns derived from Nevezie's live modular synth performances interlaced with more perspicacious melodies by Jacque Ryal.

Jacque Ryal shares "the songs are a deliberate magnifying glass to the depression that resurfaces in my life. Maybe if I looked at it super close up I can understand all facets and get out of it faster."

While the songs were written earlier this year, the duo is releasing these darker tales just in time for the winter and the early nights.

Influenced by works by Bonobo, Little Dragon, Thome York, Sbtrkt, Tame Impala and Damon Albarn, RYAL efforts in music embedded with stories and soundscapes.

RYAL released their self-entitled EP in 2016 and their first full length record Silver and Gold in October 2017.
