Sinikka Monte: "It Ain't You"

Sinikka Monte: "It Ain't You"

Sinikka was born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland in 2002 to South African-Italian and Finnish parents. In 2006 she moved to Austria. Through ballet she developed a passion for performing; and at the age of 12 she started writing songs. In 2019 Sinikka Monte received The Joe Zawinul "Z" Award for her exceptional talent and passion for music. "Authenticity and sincerity are the most important aspects in my songs. Each word is pre-meditated and vetted to match real life emotions." Sinikka strives to challenge the boundaries of mainstream music but wants to remain attractive to the modern listener by being authentic and real.

Sinikka explains “My debut single "It Ain't You" is about a first love that consumed me to the point that I lost myself. The person I was with wasn't the one for me and that is why it is called "it ain't you".  It was produced by David Piribauer who is a former Alice Cooper drummer. It was recorded in Mushrooms Studios Austria. The aim was to add new sounds and not use generic beats. Sinikka stated influences Social House, Ariana Grande, Madison Beer, Rudimental and Queen.
