Interview: Nick Johnson & Justine Blazer

Interview: Nick Johnson & Justine Blazer

We had the pleasure of checking in with Nick Johnson and Justine Blazer and they were kind enough to answer a few interview questions.

Thank you for this interview today. Tell us about the new single!

Nick&Justine: Thank you!  Done Done Done is a song about taking and turning the toxic things that occur in your life and dealing with them in a positive way.  This is not a breakup song! But it is about sticking up for yourself and not feeling bad for it.

What is the greatest part of collaboration?

Nick: Connecting on an idea. Listening to the ideas of others and trying to be as true to yourself and the song as the moment will allow.

Justine: There’s so much. It's about having fun, feeding ideas off each other and keeping things authentic. Letting the process flow and not overthinking it is the key.

Have you guys performed together before and how did you meet?

Justine: We’ve never actually performed together at a show due to Covid. But we’ve known each other for a while because of the Nashville music scene. And in the spring of 2020 he reached out to me one day and asked me if we can produce some music together.

Nick: And she said yes and here we are!

Justine: It’s been a great adventure so far!

Favorite song to blast in the car for each of you?

Nick: An old one is “We Are The Champions” and a New one is “Post Malone” by Sam Feldt

Justine: I love dance music, 90’s dance, EDM!

First concert each of you ever attended?

Nick: ZZ Top Babyyyyyy!

Justine: Hank Williams JR WSG Kid Rock!

Who is an artist we would be surprised that each of you listen to?

Nick: Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Dr. Dre.

Justine: Frank Sinatra, Classical music.
