Come see Edwrds on “The Boys of Summer Tour” 2021.

We recently had a chance to check in with Edwrds and he was kind enough to answer a few interview questions:

Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today. You can include as little or as much detail as you’d like.

The first time music really caught my eye was back in 2014 when some old friends introduced to me freestyling. I spent weeks trying to figure out how to come up with impressive flows and cool punchlines. The freestyles eventually shifted to writing lyrics, and from lyrics came my curiosity for much more.

By 15 I was already taking online music production classes and like any 15 year old rapper I was the furthest from good. However, with time came experiences that fueled my passion to create something that reflected my emotions.

Sleepless nights and a lot of frustration allowed me to start finding what Edwrds was all about.

After releasing my album “Angels and Heartbreakers” and receiving a really good response from the public, I began performing at small venues and bars while even traveling to SXSW in Austin Texas to try getting my art more known. Those crazy years of my life became the inspiration for my second album I created, titled “Loverboy”.

The “Loverboy” Album allowed me to headline for the first time and I couldn’t get enough of the stage.

All the momentum led to me being on The MorMoves Tour, PlayList Live in Orlando, Creators Live in Branson and then BOOM... the pandemic.

Now in 2021, I prepare for the Boys of Summer Tour with Klik Events. The pandemic has fortunately allowed me to really sit back and focus on my music and mental health. I’m happy to take on 2021 smiling and vibing.

Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

Definitely not a smooth road. You really have to put in work and be able to catch yourself when your slipping. I was really hurt for awhile because I believed all the fake promises certain industry people preached to a younger me.

My mental health used to eat me alive also, but I am beyond grateful to say I have grown with it. All the bumps in the road helped shape me into the artist I am today. The roads definitely been getting smoother with better time management and help from other passionate people. It’s okay to have bumps and problems though, It’s part of the journey.

Tell us more about your music, what inspires you?

My music is a wide variety of my emotions. What I love the most about creating so loosely is the transparency that i’m not here to be the biggest artist in the world. I’m just someone who loves creating and has fun doing it.

I’m inspired by my perspective on emotions, living in the moment, and wanting more for the world and myself.

What has been the best piece of advice you have been given?

The best piece of advice I’ve been given is to live in the moment. My motto, “it’s okay to not be okay” is tattooed on my right arm to remind me that good days are always on the way. Rather than hide from the problem, I now learn from the pain and grow from the joy.

What role has luck (good luck or bad luck) played in your life and career?

I have a love/hate relationship with luck. If anything, I am lucky to chase my dreams. Personally the magic lies in hard work. Whatever happens simply is what it is. I’ll never say I am unlucky. We hit the lotto getting the chance to experience life.
