Sarah Jordan: "Waves"

Sarah Jordan: "Waves"

New York City-based singer-songwriter Sarah Jordan is the little fish that keeps swimming towards bigger seas. Born and bred in Gibsonville, North Carolina, Sarah Bernstein, who performs under the moniker Sarah Jordan, had plenty of time to daydream. Bernstein began studying piano at a young age, and realized in her late teens that she wanted to pursue music.

Before moving to New York City, Bernstein spent five years in Nashville studying music at Belmont University, playing keys in various projects including rock group Laurel & the Love-In, and writing the songs that would come to comprise her first full-length album, Dressed in the Dark.

Today, you get an exclusive, early look at Sarah Jordan’s new music video for “Waves”—off her new EP Chorus Room. The NYC-based singer-songwriter has delivered yet again with a tasteful, heartfelt collection of songs that are packaged beautifully with sophisticated instrumentation that ranges from sentimental, to feel-good, to catchy, and back again.

The music video for “Waves” is a great visual representation of the song, showcasing the thoughtfulness of her penmanship.

"I wrote 'Waves' to reflect on the cyclical nature of falling and pulling yourself back up again. In the middle of a tough year, I used it to try and accept the juxtaposition of the everyday mundane against the extremes of emotional exhaustion and vulnerability. Getting out of bed, donning a sweater, and venturing out to see something real is the visual of this; how something so simple in action reflects a deeper pattern. And also, to feel that there is hope." commented Sarah Jordan
