Hopeless (Romantic) — Wired Euphoria’s Grunge-Fueled Dive Into Love and Loss

by Jack Rush

Nottinghamshire’s emerging alternative rock outfit Wired Euphoria are carving out a place in the UK music scene with their latest single, Hopeless (Romantic), released 14 October 2025. Led by frontman Jack Cawthorn—who penned the lyrics, composed the track, and shaped its production alongside drummer Harry Barber—the band delivers a sound steeped in raw emotion and grunge-tinged grit.

Drawing clear inspiration from the likes of Nirvana, Oasis, and The White Stripes, this track taps into the restless spirit of ’90s alt-rock while embracing shoegaze textures and a distinctly modern vulnerability. Heavy riffs collide with introspective lyricism as Cawthorn wrestles with the turmoil of seeking love while losing his sense of self in the process. Themes of depersonalisation and depression pulse through the song, making it both cathartic and achingly relatable.

Recorded partially at Abbey Road Derby Studios and partially in Cawthorn’s own bedroom, the single’s creation was marked by urgency—quick, instinctive, and unfiltered. That makes the track feel alive with the immediacy of a band who know exactly what they want to say, even if the world hasn’t heard them yet.

Hopeless (Romantic) is Wired Euphoria’s most compelling statement so far: a powerful blend of grit, vulnerability, and melodic punch that signals a band ready to step into the spotlight—no apologies, no pretence, just pure emotional truth.
