With Center of Your World, Fernando Honorato—best known as the voice behind Swedish post-punk outfit Principe Valiente—ushers in a stirring new chapter under his solo moniker, Fernando’s Eyes. Blending dark pop, atmospheric post-punk, and cinematic melancholy, the debut album is a brooding yet melodic exploration of emotional vulnerability and human longing.

Opening track “City of Strangers” sets the tone with solemn acoustic strums and Honorato’s quivering vocals, conjuring images of isolation and drifting souls. Subtle synths and murmured guitars gradually unfurl into a fuller sonic tapestry, building tension and catharsis in equal measure. The track is a clear declaration: this is not merely a side project, but a fully realized artistic statement.

The title track, released as the album’s second single, captures a yearning for connection with romantic intensity. Anchored by live drums (courtesy of Johan Efraimsson) and melancholic guitar jangle, it pulses with warmth and quiet urgency. The lullaby-like refrain—“all I want is to be there by your side”—is deceptively simple, yet it encapsulates the album’s central theme: the ache of not quite reaching the emotional center of another, even when you're close.

“A Million Times,” the album’s first single, leans into more delicate, electronic textures, signaling the project’s dynamic range. It floats with ambient beauty, while the White Birches remix—featuring vocals from Jenny Gabrielsson Mare—adds spectral elegance and reinforces the track’s emotional core.

Elsewhere, songs like “More for You” offer a more immediate, guitar-driven edge, showing Honorato’s versatility as both songwriter and arranger. The track’s anthemic energy doesn’t betray the album’s intimacy; instead, it serves as a reminder that emotional revelation can also come with a rush of adrenaline.

What’s striking throughout Center of Your World is Honorato’s careful balance of sonic atmosphere and lyrical introspection. Even at its most lush or expansive, the music remains grounded in personal reflection. The emotional throughline—vulnerability, desire, and the search for connection—is never obscured by aesthetic. Every synth swell and guitar shimmer serves the story.

Fans of artists like Drab Majesty, Better Person, or early Interpol will feel at home in the record’s twilight mood, but Honorato brings a distinct voice and sensitivity to the genre. His ability to merge romantic longing with musical restraint is where the album shines brightest.

Center of Your World is a poignant and immersive debut from Fernando’s Eyes—an album that embraces the shadows not to dwell in them, but to better reveal the fragile light that flickers within. It’s a bold, heartfelt work from an artist redefining himself with honesty, elegance, and sonic grace.
