Giselle. JUST SAY SORRY
Giselle Explores Growth and Self-Forgiveness on New Album 'JUST SAY SORRY'
by Jack Rush
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Giselle has released her new album, JUST SAY SORRY, a 12-track project exploring accountability, personal growth, pain, and self-forgiveness. Drawing from experiences spanning childhood, young adulthood, and her life today, the record brings together reflections on loss, drama, confidence, relationships, and the process of learning to release circumstances that cannot be changed.
Originally from Boston and raised in Buffalo, New York, Giselle began singing at five and writing music at eight. A multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, drums, guitar, violin, and ukulele, she spent years performing around Buffalo and other parts of New York before relocating to Los Angeles at 21. Since then, she has continued building her career through collaborations and performances at venues including The Hotel Cafe, The Mint, The Viper Room, Whisky a Go Go, and Hotel Ziggy.
Musically, JUST SAY SORRY reflects an artist who has little interest in staying inside a single lane. While pop and R&B remain at the center of Giselle’s sound, her broader influences stretch into rock and electronic music, allowing the album to shift its approach as its story develops.
Tracks including “COMPLICATED,” “SWEET BABY,” “BACKSTABER,” “RUMORS,” “HEARTBEAT,” and “CONSEQUENCES” move through different sides of the album’s personal themes, while its Halloween-inspired material offers an unexpected change of pace. Giselle specifically included a surprise song celebrating her love for Halloween, creating a moment of escape amid the record’s heavier reflections.
Ultimately, JUST SAY SORRY is less concerned with remaining stuck in what happened than with deciding what comes next. That idea becomes especially clear as the album arrives at “FORGIVE MYSELF,” bringing its themes of accountability and release full circle.
Giselle hopes listeners can use the record as an opportunity to reflect on their own stories and emerge with a fresh perspective, greater confidence, and the strength to continue moving forward.
