On November 1, 2025, rising artist My Name Is Tamsin released her debut holiday single, “Joy & Love (All Around Me).” Blending nostalgic lofi-pop textures with hip hop rhythms, the track captures the magic of Christmas through the lens of childlike wonder and imagination. Both heartfelt and uplifting, the single reflects My Name Is Tamsin’s deep love for the holiday season while introducing her unique ability to fuse storytelling, melody, and rhythm into a sound that feels fresh yet timeless. Born in Oxford, England and raised in the United States from the age of five, My Name Is Tamsin has lived a life shaped by resilience, imagination, and music. From an early age, music became both a passion and a lifeline, evolving from childhood creativity into a profound artistic identity.
Tamsin’s first taste of performance came in elementary school when she wrote and performed a school anthem rap for a packed assembly. While her friends abandoned the stage at the last minute, she carried the moment on her own—an early sign of her courage and determination. By high school, she had fallen deeply in love with hip hop, spending hours rapping in front of the mirror, building beats on GarageBand, and recording original songs. Her first self-made CD, filled with collaborations and her own choruses, hinted at the artist she would one day become, even as personal challenges kept her from sharing it publicly.
At just fifteen, Tamsin combined her love of Christmas—the holiday she describes as pure magic—with her passion for music, writing and recording her first Christmas song, Joy and Love (All Around Me), as a gift to her family. Their encouragement planted a seed that would one day blossom into her debut releases.
Her journey, however, was far from easy. At seventeen, Tamsin faced the onset of severe mental illness, eventually diagnosed as Major Depression with Psychosis. The challenges of her condition, combined with years of heavy medication and hospitalizations, placed her dreams on hold. Yet throughout the hardest times, she never stopped writing poetry, lyrics, and melodies. Music remained her constant source of expression, hope, and survival.
In recent years, Tamsin experienced a powerful turning point. With the guidance of a new psychiatrist who helped her significantly reduce her medications, the fog that once clouded her life lifted. She emerged with renewed energy, clarity, and a determination to fully embrace her artistry.
That new chapter began with a return to her Christmas song. Partnering with producer Dan Searl of Lit Honey Productions, she reimagined Joy and Love (All Around Me) with professional production and recorded it at The Record Co. in Boston. The experience reignited her creative fire, leading to the creation of three additional songs for her debut EP. With influences spanning pop, rap, hip hop, and poetry, her sound is as diverse as her imagination, with limitless potential for future projects across genres. Her debut self-titled EP, “My Name Is Tamsin” hits all platforms on January 5th, 2026.
Today, My Name Is Tamsin stands as a poet, songwriter, rapper, and singer whose art reflects both her struggles and her triumphs. Her music is more than entertainment—it is proof of resilience, creativity, and the power of self-expression. With her debut EP underway, she is stepping into the world as a bold new voice ready to share her story, her songs, and her spirit.
